Don’t Do This To Build Your Email List!

September 27, 2010 · 1 comment

Are you trying to build an email list. Here is a short snippet on what not to do.

It really depends on how you are driving traffic to the squeeze page. This tactic has been used for years by online marketers. Organic and paid traffic has been used to build a list. However, recently google has put a stop to both methods.

In fact, it has generated quite a dust up in the community. It seems, google is dis-allowing one page landing pages for PPC and organic search is requiring a lot more content in order to be ranked organically.

While you can still purchase other forms of traffic easily enough, google seems to be the big spigot when it comes to traffic – so it pays to play by their rules.

In a nutshell, all PPC landing pages need to be at least “mini” websites and organic sites need to have content that is updated regularly.

I have a couple of other thoughts on email list management that you can read about.

I originally found this video here if you want to look at their comment thread on the topic.
